The Tennessee Association for Home Care presents How to Get More Referrals from Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers Without Violating the Law OR Audio Recording

Date: Thursday, September 21, 2017 Live Teleconference
Encore Date: Thursday, September 28, 2017 (Playback available “on demand” of Thursday, September 21, 2016 Teleconference) Available all day.

Times: 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Central Time for live Teleconference.

Description: Hospitals are high volume referral sources for home health agencies, hospices, home medical equipment (HME) suppliers and private duty agencies. Since more surgeries are now performed in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) than in hospitals, however, providers must now include ASCs in their marketing efforts.  What are effective marketing strategies for hospitals and ASCs?  Can hospitals and ASCs enter into Preferred Provider Agreements and Care Transition Agreements?  Can physicians in hospitals and at ASCs write orders for specific providers?  What can providers give to discharge planners/case managers? How can private duty agencies market their services effectively to ASCs?   What about patients’ right to freedom of choice in hospitals and ASCs?  Can so-called pre-op or coordination visits help providers gain market share?  Join this presentation to learn how to implement effective marketing strategies, to get your questions answered and to receive extensive handouts that will serve as an on-going resource for marketing/business development staff.

Speaker: Elizabeth Hogue is an attorney in private practice with extensive experience in health care.  Prior to becoming an attorney, she was employed as a personnel manager by a Blue Cross-Blue Shield Plan.
